The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
