First-year standout Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the Patriots secured an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Brady's final season with the team in the 2019 season

Victory bolsters the New England's lead at the top of the AFC East as they improved to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets at the foot after slipping to a 2-8 mark
The visitors had scored first at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Justin Fields scoring a short rushing score to cap the Jets' opening drive
But the New England answered in the second quarter as Henderson ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone in the middle of the third period to extend the lead to 21 to 7
"That was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," Maye commented on Henderson. "He desires to be great."
Fields found Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a two field goals in the final period as the Patriots wrapped up the win
