Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the team after the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match after criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” he continued.
He also noted that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and securing victories.”
