Analysts suspect there are links between Huanya and a prominent China-based criminal personality Wan Kuok Koi, often referred to as Broken Tooth, who has subsequently funded additional deception centers on the boundary.
The facility grew quickly, and is clearly visible from the Thailand border of the boundary.
Those who succeeded to escape from it recount a harsh system imposed on the thousands, numerous from continental African nations, who were confined there, compelled to operate excessive periods, with torture and assaults applied on those who failed to reach quotas.

A statement by the regime's communications department said its forces had "liberated" KK Park, liberating more than 2,000 laborers there and confiscating 30 of Elon Musk's Starlink communication devices – commonly used by fraud hubs on the Myanmar-Thai frontier for internet activities.
The announcement blamed what it termed the "terrorist" Karen National Union and volunteer people's defence forces, which have been combating the regime since the coup, for unlawfully holding the area.
The regime's claim to have shut down this notorious fraud hub is almost certainly aimed at its primary supporter, China.

But KK Park is just a single of at least 30 comparable complexes situated on the border.
Most of these are under the control of Karen armed units allied to the regime, and the majority are still active, with tens of thousands running scams inside them.
In reality, the support of these paramilitary forces has been essential in assisting the junta drive back the KNU and other opposition groups from area they captured over the recent two-year period.
The armed forces now governs nearly all of the road joining Myawaddy to the other parts of Myanmar, a target the junta determined before it holds the first stage of the election in December.
It has taken Lay Kay Kaw, a recent settlement created for the KNU with Asian funding in 2015, a period when there had been hopes for lasting stability in the territory following a national peace agreement.
That forms a more substantial defeat to the KNU than the takeover of KK Park, from which it obtained a certain amount of funds, but where most of the monetary advantages ended up with pro-junta armed groups.
A knowledgeable contact has indicated that deception activities is ongoing in KK Park, and that it is possible the military seized just a portion of the large-scale facility.
