A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Jail Killing of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder after the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by investigating officers.

Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were seized.
